 Poker Hill Shiraz/Merlot 2008  

DESCRIPTION

A well balanced wine with a bouquet of vanilla pods and roasted almond. A generous palate with a long lingering after taste. Perfect for drinking now.

WINEMAKERS NOTES

The grapes were picked at full ripeness. Fermented dry on the skins. Only 20% of the blend was matured in 4th fill barrels for 4 months. The blend is made up of 50% Shiraz and 50% Merlot.

 Merlot 2005  

DESCRIPTION

Aromas of ripe, purple plums and other stone fruit are complemented by hints of smoked meats and mocha.Full rounded palate and soft, velvety tannins lend an opulent touch.

DESCRIPTION

Rich with an inviting nose, Hints of spices, peppers and mulberries.Beautifully integrated oak, soft tannins and balanced acid.

 Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

Velvety maroon colour announces a complex, upfront nose.An appealing wine with textured mulberry and elegant fruit offset by pleasantly smokey aromas. Structured with good tannins. A Cabernet with an attitude!

 Late bottle Vintage Port  

DESCRIPTION

Dark Tawny colour.Ripe, luscious berry fruits with hints of raisins, vanilla and spice from 5 year barrel maturation.Concentrated mid-palate with silky tannins and a wonderful long lingering finish.

WINEMAKERS NOTES

2004 vintage. Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes were used. Fermentation was stopped halfway and spirits were added, therefore stopping the fermentation and thus leaving half of the original, natural sugars left over. (Fortification). Matured in oak barrels for 3 years.
